UNFCU eLINC: CORPORATE INTRANET

In 2003, I was hired by the United Nations Federal Credit Union to design a new Corporate Intranet for their 300 employees. This turned into a full-time position, and included a wide variety of design and development projects, including another complete redesign in 2007. THE ELIJAH PROJECT

This site promotes a national support program based in Virginia for ministers and their families. I wanted to create a design that would be soft and friendly, but polished and easy to navigate.

MERIT MUSIC & ELEMENTARY STRINGS

A Connecticut music store wanted to expand its business to include online instrument sales and online payments for rentals, lessons, and repairs. I worked closely with them to provide a design that was attractive without being too flashy. I was later asked to create a subsite advertising original music and arrangements for schools by one of the site's owners.

I customized a Qshop ASP-based shopping cart to be a seamless link from the main site, connected it to an online check and credit card payment system, and input nearly 1000 products in over 100 categories. I also built a separate connection to online payments for rentals, lessons, and instrument repair.

CELIA FINKELSTEIN

My most recent "freelance" project was a small site for my wife, actress Celia Finkelstein. I based the color scheme on her headshots, and designed a simple layout that would highlight her resume and photos while allowing for easy updating.

LIFETIME SIGNS

This Connecticut company enlisted me to design a web site advertising their interior sign production services. I worked directly with Sign Edge's owner to help him structure the information he wanted to present to potential clients, and attempted to design a site that reflected the professional image and product quality he wanted to convey. He was pleased with the results.

PC4COLLEGE

This was a project for DSG, Inc., who wanted to set up a site to advertise direct sales of specific models of laptops to students at their partner colleges. I modified a Q-Shop ASP-based shopping cart to match the design I created for the small site.

CHEXPEDITE.COM

I worked full-time for CHEXpedite, Inc. (and NBDS, Inc., as it was previously called) from 1999 through 2002. More information is available on my Skills & Experiences page. This was their primary marketing site, advertising CHEXpedite's services to potential clients. When the company name changed and focus shifted, I designed this site to replace the NBDSOnline site I'd previously designed.

NBDS ONLINE

One of my first tasks when I began working for NBDS/CHEXpedite was to design a new marketing site to advertise their products. I based this on the look and feel of their paper marketing brochures. Interestingly, I discovered at one point that a dentist had stolen the entire NBDSonline design for his site, just masking the NBDS logo with his own.

NBDS GEAR

While at NBDS, I was given the assignment to create a demonstration site for a new e-commerce shopping cart for a major presentation two days later. I built a tongue-in-cheek online store, advertising faux products sporting the NBDS logo. The presentation was very successful, and the store was used for over two years to demonstrate the shopping cart system to potential merchants.

PERFECT MATCH NOW!

This faux dating site was created as a "prop" for a short film entitled "Perfect Profile." Director Andrew Park provided me with a script of the "steps" the main character needed to follow to progress through the site, so the navigation is completely linear. I also drew cartoon heart illustrations for each step, to provide something visually interesting to show onscreen during the registration scene.

CASHFLOW-DOCTOR

I designed this site from scratch for a company catering specifically to hospitals and medical care providers. The site was developed to be an online brochure for potential clients to view the payment options and services available to them.

AMERICAN BILLING SYSTEMS

This is an electronic payment services company, related to Cashflow-Doctor. I began the project, and came up with the original design concept shown here. Due to outside issues, the site was put on hold for about a year, and finally finished by another company. However, my concepts still drove the final layout, look and feel.

DARKNESS VISIBLE RADIO THEATRE

I was a founding member of a radio theatre troupe at my college, and in addition to writing and acting on the show, I was in charge of developing and maintaining the web site. The faculty sponsor liked my design so much, he used the imagery and color scheme for our troupe t-shirts.

I designed sites for my parents' businesses soon after I began working as a web designer. In addition to creating the graphics and layout for both sites, I drew illustrations both by hand and using Adobe Illustrator.

CAROL'S CURTAIN CALL

This site was built to advertise Northwest Florida theatre events. My goal for the site was to make it loose, colorful and fun. The site's owner and I have received a great deal of positive feedback, and it has become the most popular theatre site in the area.
