I was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. From childhood through high school, I cultivated obsessions for dinosaurs, cartoons, Transformers, theater, and computers. At Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, I realized that only one of those offered a viable career path, so I majored in Computer Science. In my free time I continued to draw cartoons, worked as a DJ at the college radio station, and wrote and acted in a radio theatre show. I also built my first web page in early 1996, and soon thereafter began working both for the college's web site and on small freelance projects.

After graduation in 1999, I moved to Fort Worth, TX to work for a small financial company called CHEXpedite. I was initially hired to be their only in-house web designer, maintaining their small Intranet and creating external marketing web sites for the company. Over the next three years, my role increased to Senior Developer and eventually IT Director. I gained a great deal of on-the-job managerial experience, being responsible for a team of 12 developers, designers, and network engineers.

In 2002, my fiancée and I decided to move to New York City, where I designed and developed various web sites on a freelance basis. In 2003, I was hired by the United Nations Federal Credit Union to completely redesign their corporate Intranet on a contract basis. They were pleased enough with my work to offer me the permanent position of Web Administrator, with my responsibilities covering Windows/IIS administration, Intranet web development, and management/creation of all Intranet content and internal web marketing.

In summer 2007, we relocated (again) to Los Angeles, and along with the occasional freelance project, I got a job developing marketing & support web pages for an online virtual world game called There.com. This was a great opportunity for me to work outside the financial industry, helping to create a product with a loyal fanbase. Unfortunately, the current recession forced them to eliminate my position, so as of the summer of 2009, I am currently seeking new employment in the Los Angeles area.

I have been very fortunate to have spent my career thus far working on for companies that provided me with excellent opportunities for technical and creative growth. I hope to be able to continue that pattern with my next employer. And, of course, to have some time now and then to draw cartoons.
